Door won't lock
If the handle will not lift or the locking points will not engage, the mechanism or alignment may need attention.
SPECIALIST DOOR LOCK REPAIRS
Problems locking, unlocking or lifting the handle? We diagnose UPVC and composite door lock faults throughout Cambridge and surrounding areas.
A door that will not lock does not automatically need a complete new door. Problems can be caused by the multipoint mechanism, centre gearbox, euro cylinder, handles, keeps, hinges or door alignment. Correct diagnosis helps avoid replacing parts unnecessarily.
If the handle will not lift or the locking points will not engage, the mechanism or alignment may need attention.
A stiff or non-turning key can indicate a cylinder problem, pressure on the mechanism or an internal gearbox fault.
Failed locking mechanisms can leave a UPVC door stuck closed. The fault needs identifying before the correct repair is chosen.
Many UPVC doors use a multipoint locking strip with hooks, rollers, mushrooms or bolts. The central gearbox operates these locking points. When a gearbox or another part of the mechanism fails, replacing the correct component can often restore the existing door.
